Mother’s Day Bunny Garden Plate Painting Workshop in Toronto | Artist Series
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a hands-on ceramic painting experience in Toronto—part of our Artist Series Painting Workshops, where each month we feature a guest artist who leads a fully guided, step-by-step class.
Our first featured artist, Yexi Wang, will guide you through a live painting demonstration, teaching in real time as you follow along and create your own finished piece.
This workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, structured, and easy to follow—perfect if you want to learn painting techniques without feeling overwhelmed.
What Makes This Workshop Different
This is not a free-form painting session.
✔ Step-by-step instruction led by a professional artist
✔ Follow-along format — paint together in real time
✔ Artist Series experience — new featured artist each month
✔ Take-home finished design after firing in the kiln — no guesswork, just results
Workshop Project: Bunny Garden Plate
In this special Mother’s Day class, you’ll paint a heart-shaped ceramic plate featuring a spring bunny surrounded by florals—a perfect handmade gift or keepsake.
You’ll receive a printed template to trace, making it easy to focus on painting techniques rather than drawing.
What You’ll Learn
• How to transfer and trace your design onto ceramic
• Layering colour using underglaze paints
• Brush control and watercolour-style techniques
• Creating soft floral textures and details
• How to build depth and finish a cohesive design
What’s Included
• One heart-shaped ceramic plate
• All painting materials and underglaze paints
• Printed bunny garden template
• Live, step-by-step instruction by featured artist Yexi Wang
• Kiln firing (food-safe finish)
After the Workshop
Your piece will be kiln-fired, glazed, and ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks.
