Fired & Framed: A Ceramic Photo Transfer Workshop at Richmond

Turn your favorite memories into a lasting piece of pottery in our Ceramic Photo Transfer Workshop at our Richmond Studio in Toronto.

In this unique hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transfer a personal photograph onto a glazed ceramic mug using a special ceramic printing process. Your image will first appear black and white, and once kiln-fired it transforms into a beautiful sepia-toned image permanently fused into the ceramic surface.

How It Works

Before the class, our team will print your photo using a special ceramic ink and transfer paper. During the workshop, you’ll soak the printed image in water and carefully transfer it onto your glazed mug under the guidance of our instructors. Once positioned, the image becomes embedded into the glaze during the kiln firing process.

Your finished piece will be food safe, permanent, and ready to use after firing.

After the Workshop

Once your mug dries, it will be kiln fired to permanently set the image.

Pickup is approximately 3 weeks after the workshop date.

Your finished mug will be food safe and ready to enjoy at home.
