In this beginner-friendly pottery class, you’ll handbuild two custom ceramic magnetic planters designed to stick to your fridge or any magnetic surface. Perfect for mini succulents, air plants, herbs, or dried florals, these planters add a modern handmade touch to your home or workspace.
Using slab-building techniques, you’ll shape and construct your planters from clay, learning how to properly attach and reinforce the magnetic backing for strength and durability. Once your forms are complete, you’ll personalize them with underglaze paints — exploring color, pattern, texture, and surface design.

- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up

- Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.
What to bring
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
