Spicy Balkan ✕ Clay with Me: A Meza Party Full of Pottery, Food & Balkan Energy

This January, Clay with Me teamed up once again with The Spicy Balkan for one of our most flavourful workshops yet: the Meza Party.

Hosted at our downtown Toronto pottery studio, this special Paint-Your-Own-Pottery experience brought together food lovers, creatives, families, and curious first-timers for an afternoon inspired by Balkan culture, hospitality, and connection.

Guests painted custom ceramic Meza platters complete with built-in dip bowls while enjoying a full traditional Balkan spread designed for sharing. Between pottery painting, storytelling, and plenty of laughter, the studio transformed into a true Balkan gathering — loud, warm, welcoming, and impossible to leave hungry from.

The afternoon also featured an exclusive tasting of Spicy Balkan’s artisanal Ajvar, the iconic roasted red pepper and eggplant spread deeply rooted in Balkan tradition. Guests learned about the old-school preparation process, the cultural history behind the dish, and why homemade flavours and shared meals remain such an important part of Balkan life.

Fresh Domaca coffee was served throughout the event — strong, authentic, and made the way baba would approve of — while guests connected over food, creativity, and stories from home.

At Clay with Me, we love creating workshops that go beyond pottery. Experiences like the Meza Party are exactly what inspire us most — bringing people together through art, culture, food, and shared moments.

A huge thank you to The Spicy Balkan and everyone who joined us for this unforgettable afternoon. Toronto definitely brought the energy for this one. 🔥
