Photo Transfer Mug Workshop – Make a Personalized Ceramic Gift
Turn a favourite photo into a personalized ceramic mug in this hands-on pottery workshop at our Richmond Studio in Toronto.
This workshop is perfect for making a unique handmade gift for a friend, partner, parent, grandparent, or loved one. Bring a meaningful photo and we'll help you transfer it onto a glazed ceramic mug.
What You'll Do
Before your class, our team will print your photo using special ceramic ink and transfer paper.
During the workshop, you'll:
- Transfer your photo onto a glazed ceramic mug
- Learn the ceramic photo transfer process
- Work with our instructors to position your image
- Prepare your mug for kiln firing
Your photo will appear black and white during the workshop. After kiln firing, it will become a sepia-toned image permanently fused into the ceramic glaze.
Your Finished Mug
After the workshop, your mug will be kiln fired to permanently set the image.
Pickup is approximately 3 weeks after your workshop. We do NOT send pickup reminders, so please mark your calendar.
Your finished mug will be food safe, permanent, and ready to use at home.
Photo Submission – Required 48 Hours Before Class
You must email your photo at least 48 hours before your class so we have time to prepare your ceramic transfer.

Example:November 12th, 7pm – Photo Transfer Artwork
High-resolution photos with clear contrast work best.
Did you miss the 48-hour deadline?
You must still email your photo as soon as possible. No refunds will be provided if your photo is not submitted on time, and your spot in the class may be affected. Please make sure your photo is submitted at least 48 hours before your workshop.
Who is it for
This class is for 1 person.
What to expect
- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up
- This class is 2 hours
- This class includes 1 piece. Pickup is approximately 3 weeks after the workshop date. Due to production volume, we do NOT send out reminders, please mark your calendars!
- Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.
What to bring
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
