Slowing Down with Our Mosaic Workshop at Ace Hotel

At Clay with Me, we recently hosted a beautiful Mosaic Pottery Workshop for the Ace Hotel Toronto, and Shift Collab inviting our community to slow down, get creative, and reconnect with the joy of making something by hand.

In today’s fast-paced world, we often forget what it feels like to create just for fun. As adults, we tend to chase perfection and outcomes, but this workshop was all about letting go and playing with clay. There were no mistakes, only exploration, color, and creativity.

The evening was guided by Shift Collab’s ADHD-specialized therapist, Sarah Innes, who shared how working with your hands can quiet the mind, ease perfectionism, and foster calm through creativity. Guests explored how mindful art practices like pottery can support mental health and balance.

Between mosaic-making, mindful pauses, and meaningful conversations, the night became less about the final product and more about being present in the process, a refreshing reminder that slowing down can be deeply healing.

Our talented Toronto ceramic artist Ritzee led the creative demonstration with the support of Flora, helping participants bring their unique mosaic visions to life.

By the end of the evening, everyone left with more than a handmade piece, they left grounded, inspired, and reminded of the simple magic that comes from creative workshops in Toronto.
