This series is designed to spotlight emerging and local artists by giving them the space to lead workshops, share their techniques, and bring their creative vision to life through hands-on experiences in our Toronto studio.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all pottery class, every Artist Series workshop is personal, artist-led, and shaped by the artist’s own story, style, and creative process. We provide the space, they bring the vision, and you get to experience something real.

Introducing Toronto Artist Reissa

We’re excited to welcome Toronto-based artist Reissa to our Artist Series with a special beginner-friendly ceramic painting workshop: The Sleepy Mug Workshop.

Known primarily for her loose alla prima oil painting style, Reissa also has a longtime passion for illustration — something sparked early on after a memorable school visit from beloved children’s author Robert Munsch.

Her illustration influences include artists like Fred Blunt, David Shannon, and Robert Munsch, blending playful storytelling with expressive character design.

For this workshop, Reissa brings that whimsical illustration style onto ceramics with a fun twist: painting a dreamy, sleepy illustration directly onto a mug.

What to Expect in the Workshop

This is not a free-form paint session. It’s a fully guided, step-by-step ceramic painting workshop where participants follow along in real time and learn actual underglaze painting techniques used on pottery.

Perfect for beginners, the class includes live demonstrations, guided instruction, and a printed template to help participants confidently create their own finished piece.
