Experience the meditative flow of the pottery wheel in our Table Wheel Pottery Class in Toronto. This hands-on workshop is designed for beginners and anyone curious to explore wheel throwing in a fun, supportive, and accessible setting. No prior experience is required.

In this class, you will:

  • Work with professional clay using our unique tabletop pottery wheels.

  • Enjoy a comfortable and flexible setup that allows you to sit or stand as you create.

  • Learn the essential foundations of the wheel: centering, opening, and pulling your clay.

  • Explore wheel-throwing basics like shaping walls and refining the lip of your vessel.

  • Master the rhythm of the spin, guided by expert Toronto pottery instructors.

What you can create:

  • Throw your own functional pottery pieces such as a cup, bowl, or small vase.

  • Experiment with different forms at your own pace while receiving one-on-one technical support.

After your class:

  • Choose your favorite piece to be bisque fired, clear glazed, and kiln-fired by our team.

  • Your finished pottery will be food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-friendly.

This workshop focuses entirely on the flow and rhythm of wheel throwing, offering a relaxed, professional experience for anyone looking to learn the art of the wheel in Toronto.

Who is it for

This class is for single registration for adults of all skill levels.

What to expect

  • Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
  • The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up
  • This class is one, 3 hour session including clean up
  • This class includes One finished piece that will be bisque fired, coated in a clear glaze, and fired again to make it food and dishwasher safe.
  • Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.

What to bring

  • Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
  • Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
