Join our Handbuilding & Pottery Painting Class in Toronto and learn how to create and decorate pottery by hand. This beginner-friendly pottery workshop is designed for anyone interested in working with clay in a relaxed and creative studio environment. No experience is required.
In this class, you will learn basic handbuilding techniques including pinching, coiling, and slab building. Our instructors will guide you through the process of shaping your own ceramic piece, such as a mug, bowl, plate, tray, or planter.
After building your piece, you will paint and decorate it using ceramic underglazes and pottery painting techniques. Add colour, patterns, textures, and personal details to create a finished piece that is completely unique.

Your pottery will be glazed, kiln-fired, and ready for pickup at a later date. Finished pieces are food-safe and functional.

What to expect
- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up

- Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.
What to bring
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
