Throughout this four-week Toronto jewellery workshop, you’ll learn how to design, shape, cast, paint, and glaze your own ceramic jewellery collection using stoneware clay and porcelain slip. Taught by professional ceramic jewellery artists, this course provides both technical instruction and valuable guidance on how to launch your own jewellery business.
By the end of the course, you’ll create either:
• 6 pairs of earrings, 3 pendants, and 1 bracelet, or
• 12 pairs of earrings
giving you a fully realized jewellery kit you can wear, gift, or use as the foundation of your own small brand.

Class 1 – Design, Slab Building & Shaping
Learn how to design your jewellery line, sketch concepts, create slabs, and shape your first pieces. (Handbuilding Technique #1)
Class 2 – Slip Pouring & Mold Work
Work with porcelain slip and plaster trays to cast lightweight, consistent jewellery elements. (Handbuilding Technique #2)
Class 3 – Painting & Surface Decoration
Explore underglaze painting, pattern design, color application, and how to create a cohesive collection.

- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up

- Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.
What to bring
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
