Spin & Sculpt: A Wheel + Handbuilding Fusion Class

In this 3-hour immersive workshop, you’ll get your hands into clay using both handbuilding techniques and our unique table wheels, designed for flexibility so you can sit or stand as you create. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to try something new, this workshop blends the meditative pace of handbuilding with the flow and rhythm of wheel work — no previous experience needed.

You’ll begin with a guided demo, then move between hand-sculpting and wheel-throwing to build your own functional or decorative piece. Learn foundational handbuilding methods like pinching, coiling, and slab work, while also exploring wheel basics like centering and shaping — all at your own pace and comfort.

Whether you’re crafting a mug, bowl, or something totally abstract, our instructors are there to support your vision. At the end of class, you can choose your favorite piece(s) to be bisque fired, glazed, and fired again, making them food-safe, dishwasher-, and microwave-friendly.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants a relaxed, open-ended experience with clay — combining the grounded feel of handbuilding with the movement of the wheel, all on your terms.
