We make them, you glaze them.
In this beginner Pottery Glazing Workshop at our Richmond studio in Toronto, you’ll decorate a handmade ceramic piece using professional brush-on glazes in a relaxed, beginner-friendly setting. This is a painting-style glazing workshop—we do not dip pieces. Instead, you’ll explore intentional, layered techniques that allow for more control, creativity, and beautiful surface detail.
During this 1-hour session, you’ll learn how to glaze using:
-
Brush-on glazing techniques for smooth or expressive finishes
-
Crackle & specialty glazes that create organic texture and depth
-
Wax resist to block glaze, reveal raw clay, and create clean lines, patterns, and contrast
-
Layering and color blending to achieve unique, one-of-a-kind results
Choose from a curated selection of handmade stoneware pieces, crafted in-studio by our team of artists using our signature beige speckled or white clay. Each piece is bisque fired and ready to glaze, giving you the perfect canvas to explore colour and design.
This workshop is your time to unwind, relax, and simply play with colour. No pressure, no perfection—just a fun, meditative creative experience where you can switch off your brain and let your hands take the lead.
✨ What’s included:
-
One bisque-fired ceramic piece (valued at $20)
-
All glazes, tools, and instruction
-
Kiln firing and finishing
Additional ceramic pieces will be available for purchase if you’d like to glaze more during your session.
Once complete, we’ll apply a clear glaze and fire your piece in our kiln, making it food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher friendly. Finished pottery will be ready for pickup approximately 3 weeks after the workshop.
Join us at our Toronto Richmond studio for a colourful, hands-on glazing experience that’s equal parts relaxing and creatively energizing.
