Our Teen Clay Summer Day Camp is a fully outdoor pottery program for ages 12–17, combining structured ceramic instruction with an open-air summer setup.

Location & Schedule

Richmond Studio – Downtown Toronto (Richmond & Spadina)
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Runs every Thursday (book individual days)

Fully Outdoor Setup

This is a fully outdoor camp with a covered workspace (gazebo) for shade and weather protection.

• Covered and shaded all day (sun + rain protected)
• Water stations to stay hydrated
• Hand washing stations on-site
• Steps from Graffiti Alley for creative inspiration

What Teens Learn

Campers work with clay throughout the day and are guided by instructors through:

Wheel Throwing – centering, opening, shaping
Table Wheel Pottery – beginner-friendly wheel option
Handbuilding – pinching, coiling, slab building
Surface Design – painting, carving, decorating

Each day includes structured projects and creative exercises.

2 finished pieces per day
(typically 1 wheel-thrown + 1 handbuilt project)

Selected pieces will be:

• Bisque fired
• Clear glazed
• Kiln fired again

Final pieces are food-safe and dishwasher-safe.

  • Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry

What to bring

  • Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
  • Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
