About this class
Learn building techniques, clay properties, sturdy attachment methods, surface texture creation, and underglaze application for vibrant decorations.
This 4-week course, led by artist Jurgita Žvinklytė, is designed to help you find your style, build essential skills, and bring your visions to life. Whether you're drawn to imaginative sculptures, functional design objects, or intricate ceramic tile art, this class will guide you every step of the way.
Learn key handbuilding techniques, explore the properties of clay, master sturdy attachment methods, and experiment with surface textures. You'll also discover how to apply vibrant underglazes and glazes to decorate and finish your work.
Perfect for all skill levels—especially beginners aged 14+ —this class focuses on sculptural objects while embracing the possibility of functional forms that embody a sculptural touch. Come ready to explore, create, and grow!

What to expect
- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up.
- Your pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class
- This class is four weeks of 3 hour sessions each
- This class includes up to 4 small sculptural pieces, or one large sculptural piece, larger or additional pieces may have additional firing fees
What to bring
- Bring some ideas for inspiration for what you would like to work towards making.
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics. Nails over 1" are not recommended.

- Purchases are nonrefundable, and rescheduling requires 72 hours' notice.
- The studio is not liable for lost or broken pieces, recognizing explosions and cracks as inherent in the ceramic process.
