About this class

Join us for a focused 4-week wheel throwing class where you'll learn to craft a beautiful teapot from start to finish.

 

This course is perfect for intermediate potters looking to expand their skills and create a functional, artistic piece. By the end of the course, you'll have a fully functional and uniquely designed teapot to take home. Join us to enhance your wheel throwing skills and enjoy the art of teapot making!


Join us for this unique opportunity to push the boundaries of your wheel throwing skills and create stunning large vessels that showcase your artistic vision and technical prowess.

This class is 4 consecutive weeks of 3 hour classes at the listed start date, time, and location where you'll learn from our expert instructor, tailored for your own skill level. 

Prerequisite: Students must be able to independently center on the wheel and create a tall cylinder.

Pieces will be ready for pick up 3 weeks after the final class. 

Who is it for

This class is for single registration for adults at an intermediate throwing level

What to expect

  • Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
  • The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up.
  • Your pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class
  • This class is four weeks of 3 hour sessions each
  • This class includes 5-6 fired pieces, with the option to fire more pieces for a fee

What to bring

  • Bring some ideas for inspiration for what you would like to work towards making.
  • Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
  • Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics. Nails over 1" are not recommended.

  • Purchases are nonrefundable, and rescheduling requires 72 hours' notice.
  • The studio is not liable for lost or broken pieces, recognizing explosions and cracks as inherent in the ceramic process.
  • Please be sure to arrive on time, late arrivals may be denied entry.
