Devina Lookman is a ceramicist and pottery instructor based in Toronto. Going beyond creating vessels, she has built a practice of movement with the clay. Much more interested in the process of the craft, she spends her time away in the studio without fear or shame of dilly dallying. Her style of teaching is gentle and whimsical, rooted in relational work with the material and other makers. She can’t help it with a background in Peace and Conflict Studies! She is deeply invested in the space where peace building meets the fine arts. The collision of both worlds is evident in her personal works and collections, where each piece tells a story of interconnection.
