Join our Beginner Wheel throwing Class with a twist! Learn to throw on the wheel, practice while your piece dries, and then decorate and paint your piece to make it truly your own. 

Discover the joy of wheel throwing as you try out the wheel and create your own masterpiece. You'll get to keep your best piece from the session. But wait, there's more! Before you leave, you will have the opportunity to customize it with carving and vibrant underglaze colors. Afterward, we'll take care of the rest. Your piece will be bisque fired, then coated with a clear glaze before being fired again to ensure it's food and dishwasher safe. Don't miss this chance to craft a personalized ceramic treasure! 

This class will being with a basic instruction of how to use the potters wheel, and thown pieces will be dried to allow some hand-built additions, as well as overglaze application to paint or decorate your piece.

What to expect

  • Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
  • The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up
  • This class is one, 3 hour session
  • This class includes one fired piece
  • Any included or purchased pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class.

What to bring

  • Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
  • Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.

  • Purchases are nonrefundable, and rescheduling requires 72 hours' notice.
  • Due to class schedules we are not able to offer make-up classes for multi-week classes. 
  • The studio is not liable for lost or broken pieces, recognizing explosions and cracks as inherent in the ceramic process.
  • Please be sure to arrive on time, late arrivals may be denied entry.
