Diwali Special: DIY Diya Handbuilding Workshop
Celebrate Diwali by crafting 4-8 traditional diyas—small clay lamps symbolizing light and prosperity. In this workshop, you'll learn to shape and decorate these festive pieces using texture, carving, stamps, stencils, and color—perfect for display during the festival. All pieces will be ready for pickup by November 12th, just in time for Diwali celebrations.
Students under 12 should be accompanied by an adult student.

Who is it for
This class is for single registration for all ages of all skill levels
What to expect
- Expect to get a bit dirty with clay slip, but all materials used will wipe off with water, or come out in the laundry
- The last 20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to clean-up
- Your pottery will be fired by our team to make it food-safe, and ready for pickup 3 weeks after the class
- This class is one, 3 hour session
- This class includes 4-8 traditional diyas will be fired and clear glazed
What to bring
- Please bring an apron and hand towel for you to use during the class.
- Short trimmed nails are ideal for ceramic creativity, but our team is happy to instruct some work-arounds for acrylics.
Please note:
- Purchases are nonrefundable, and rescheduling requires 72 hours' notice.
- The studio is not liable for lost or broken pieces, recognizing explosions and cracks as inherent in the ceramic process.
- Please be sure to arrive on time, late arrivals may be denied entry.
